How to Avoid Twitter Cluelessness

Over at the American Express Open Forum blog, I explain how to not look clueless on Twitter. The first five ways are:

  1. Don’t tell other people how to tweet.

  2. Don’t tell the world that you unfollowed someone.

  3. Don’t ask people why they unfollowed you.

  4. Don’t constantly tweet mundane updates and babble.

  5. Don’t use a small picture for an avatar.

Over the weekend we upgraded Alltop to version 3. The primary functions that this version addresses are improved navigation and search. Because Alltop has grown to over 700 topics, we needed a better way for people to understand what Alltop does and to find topics that interest them.

Po Bronson and Ashley Merryman have written a very interesting book examining how people nurture their kids. It’s called NurtureShock: New Thinking About Children. I conducted an interview with them about this subject. Interestingly, I think many of their findings apply to nurturing employees too. Check out the interview here.
