One of the Reverse Pension Plan (RPP) providers that are still open for business is WPP. The main site allows you to sign up for $55 with the potential to receive $80,000 once all policies are sold and the payment formalities have been completed.

There is an ongoing offer to get 2 policies for the price of 1 so in practice you would receive $160,000 per policy. You are able to purchase up to 10 policies at a time but there is nothing to stop you going back again for more blocks of 10.

In a slightly different business model than other providers WPP have teamed up with Yardas bank who will provide the banking side of the operation. When you join there is a somewhat convoluted process to follow as you sign up both at WPP and at Yardas. It’s important that account details on both sites match up if you don’t want to fall foul of delays and disruption while problems get sorted.

I’m fully aware that no RPP has yet paid out and of those that should be nearing completion the communication is poor or lacking, however the reality is that RPP’s are a legitimate financial vehicle but in the past have only been available to those with the right connections.

Whether any of the RPP’s that are being offered online will ever pay out is still to be proven but personally I have taken the decision to invest in WPP as a way of diversifying.

There are just over 4,000 policies remaining (total required to go ahead is 70,000) and from figures I’ve seen the progress could be better but at least it does show sales on a regular basis so hopefully it won’t take too long to wrap up what remains.
